High Triglycerides
12/21/2005
The usual clinical range for blood triglyceride levels is generally, at this point in time, agreed to be between 10 and 190 MG/DL. The reading can be very innaccurate if an eight hour fast is not required.
If your reading is truly high in all probability your carbohydrate consumption, especially refined carbs, exceeds your daily activity/calorie requirements. Reduce your carbohydrates every day until at the two week point your carbs are 40-60/day. Maintain this level for two more weeks, 20 carbs per day if you can, fast properly before the test, and compare your new results with your first number.
Consult with your health care provider before you try this experiment. It also may not be appropriate for you to stay at a daily carb level of 60 or lower. Again consult with your health care provider.
